AN ORDINANCE OF THE TOWN OF WALWORTH TRAFFIC ORDINANCE: SPEED LIMITS ON CERTAIN TOWN ROADS

The Town Board of the Town of Walworth, Walworth County, Wisconsin, does ordain as follows:

Section 1. Title.

This ordinance is entitled the "Town of Walworth Traffic Ordinance: Speed Limits on Certain Town Roads".

Section 2. Purpose.

The purpose of this ordinance is to establish certain speed limits on certain roads within the Town of Walworth.

Section 3. Authority

The Town Board of the Town of Walworth has the specific statutory authority, powers and duties, pursuant to the statutory sections noted in this ordinance and/or by its adoption of village powers under sec. 60.10 (1993-1994), Wis. Stats., to regulate, control, and enforce certain speed limits on certain roads within the Town of Walworth.

Section 4. Adoption of Ordinance.

The Town Board of the Town of Walworth has, by the adoption of this ordinance, confirmed the specific statutory authority, powers and duties noted in the specific sections of this ordinance, the regulations, speed limits, controls and enforcement against any persons that may violate the speed limits established on certain roads within the Town of Walworth.

Section 5. General Provisions.

The Town of Walworth establishes, by this ordinance, in compliance with Chapters 346 and 349 (1993-1994), Wis. Stats., and the following maximum speed limits on the following public highways, roads, streets and alleys in the Town of Walworth:

(a) The speed limit on the following described portions of town roads in the Town of Walworth shall be forty-five (45) miles per hour for all vehicles:

• Six Corners Road start at Hwy 14 for the whole road to North Walworth Road intersection. ;

• Lakeville road from Ridge Road East to Walworth / Linn Townline Road

• Willow Bend Road from Six Corners Road to Hwy 14

• Townhall Road to Willow Bend Road.

The above and foregoing Ordinance was duly adopted by the Town Board of the Town of Walworth at a regular meeting held on the 10th day of January, 2006.
