TOWN OF WALWORTH, WALWORTH, WISCONSIN

A RESOLUTION TO GIVE AUTHORITY TO THE TREASURER TO PAY BILLS PRIOR TO BOARD APPROVAL THAT MAY CAUSE THE TOWN TO RECEIVE A CASH DISCOUNT OR LATE FEE

WHEREAS, the Town of Walworth has reoccurring bills; and

WHEREAS, some of the bills incurred by the Town have billing restrictions that require payment be submitted before the next regular scheduled board meeting or a late fee would be incurred; and

WHEREAS, some of the bills incurred by the Town allow a discount be taken if the bill is paid on or before a specified date and that the date falls before the next regular scheduled board meeting,

WHEREAS, town employees using personal money, with the permission from the Town Chairperson and the Town Clerk, to purchase supplies for Town of Walworth Town Hall be reimbursed prior to next regularly scheduled Town of Walworth Board meeting.

WHEREAS, the Treasurer may pay the bill within the first week of each month, even if that precedes the regularly scheduled Town of Walworth Town Board meeting, in regards to the contract between the Town of Walworth and the Village of Walworth for Fire Protection Services and Emergency Medical Services.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Town of Walworth Board has authorized the Town Treasurer to pay such reoccurring bills; that allow a cash discount or impose a late fee; before presentation to the Town Board, unless the bill is questionable.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a monthly report of the bills paid will be submitted at the next regularly scheduled board meeting.

This resolution was duly considered and adopted by the Town of Walworth pursuant to a vote of for and against on this the day of , 2010.
