TOWN OF WALWORTH, WALWORTH, WISCONSIN

A RESOLUTION FOR PUBLIC TO REQUEST TO BE ADDED TO REGULAR TOWN HALL MEETING AGENDA OR TAKEN OFF REGULAR TOWN HALL MEETING AGENDA

WHEREAS, the Town of Walworth conducts monthly meetings to address, among other things, issues and requests submitted to the Board by petitioners of the Town of Walworth; and

WHEREAS, such requests and issues brought to the Board are entitled to be heard and addressed in a timely and efficient manner; and

WHEREAS, in an attempt to ensure efficiency and timeliness, certain rules for submission of residents' requests must be established; and

WHEREAS, to that end, any and all requests to be heard at the monthly Board meeting must be submitted to a Board member or to the Town Clerk in writing at least 7 business days prior to a given monthly meeting; and.

WHEREAS, if a petitioner has already submitted a request in writing to the Board to be heard at the monthly meeting and is not able to attend that meeting, or if they for any other reason wish to be removed from the agenda, a request in writing stating the same shall be made to a Board member or to the Town Clerk no less than one week prior to that meeting; and

WHEREAS, if a timely request in writing is not made, any request to be heard shall be denied and any request to be removed from the agenda shall be denied; and

WHEREAS, failure to make a timely request in writing to be removed from the agenda and failure of that petitioner to attend the meeting shall result in the denial of said request and closure of that matter before the Board; and

WHEREAS: the Board recognizes that each circumstance may require individual review. If the facts surrounding an item that has been requested to be placed on the agenda after the deadline or that which is asked to be removed as set forth in this resolution, the Board reserves the right to allow, under certain circumstances, the item be considered despite the residents' failure to comply with this resolution. In each such circumstance, the Board Member or Members allowing its inclusion or removal shall make a statement of justification at the time that the meeting item is taken up.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Town of Walworth Board has approved the seven day requirement set forth above.
